We visited this Restaurant in Balham on a recent trip to London. On a Friday evening it was very busy so I think it would be advisable to book a table. Service was slow but well worth the wait. A wide range of curries was on offer. Lamb Rogan josh was one of the best I have ever tasted. There was a nice range of starters, would highly recommend the samosas. We will be back on another trip soon.
One of the best curries I've ever had. The food was spectacular. Lovely samosas and calamari to start with delicious dips and chutneys. The aubergine curry was one of the nicest things I've ever had. The saag paneer was delicious. The chicken korahi was flavoursome. Great naans and rice too. Drinks are reasonably priced. Decor is great. Service is friendly and helpful. Can't wait to return. Absolutely superb restaurant!
An unplanned visit for dinner for 6 on a Saturday evening. Wonderful hosts, staff were accommodating, and great personalities. Food was absolutely top class. Will be back!
We popped in here after a few drinks at a local pub, the restaurant was full but the manager said we could wait about 5 mins and a table would be free. He was right, we had a lovely curry, not at all greasy like many curries can be. It's a small and busy place but the food was excellent and we will definitely return.
This is a great Indian restaurant. As the name suggests, it specialises with thalis which provide a full meal from curries, bread / rice, dhal, pickles and a desert on one plater. The food is consistently good, well priced and a perfect location opposite Balham Train / Tube station. Do try, you will not be disappointed.
A new bar called Tongi (meaning ‘cottage’ in the Bengali language), is here to offer a plethora of Indian cuisines from all around India with a bucket full of classic wines and beers. Renovation is underway and the new venue is expected to open in mid-September. We'll keep you posted!
